Twenty years ago, DCL Laboratory Products was a dream healthcare organization. Today, it is a leading lab diagnostics, medical technology, and healthcare solutions enterprise in West Africa. December 5, 2025, marks 20 years of quality, impact and commitment to regional healthcare delivery for the company. DCL’s contributions to laboratory medicine and healthcare delivery were applauded by government officials, healthcare executives, medical specialists, industry stakeholders and partners during its 20th anniversary.

Founded in 2005, DCL Laboratory Products is an established West African manufacturer of IVD, laboratory and healthcare support services. The organization improves patient care and disease management in Nigeria and other West African countries through modern diagnostics, laboratory equipment, technical assistance and scientific solutions.

Limited access to advanced diagnostic technologies is a systemic challenge affecting disease recognition, therapeutic precision and healthcare outcomes. Equipment cost, maintenance issues and lack of technical know-how have affected the uptake of advanced diagnostic technologies by many healthcare facilities.

DCL Laboratory Products has addressed these challenges through quality assurance systems, technical capacity building, sustainable service delivery models and local manufacture of laboratory equipment to improve access to diagnostics. The company ensures consistency, reliability and global best practice across all operations through an ISO 9001:2015-certified quality management system. This certification builds stakeholder confidence in the firm’s processes, products and services.

Dr. Anyanwu Okechukwu, Group Managing Director, DCL Group, stated DCL has been innovative, resilient, and committed to reducing diagnostic gaps in healthcare during the event. About 250 competent engineers, medical laboratory scientists, technical specialists, quality assurance professionals, logisticians, and support staff work for the organization. The GMD emphasized that the staff and personnel are the backbone of the company, highlighting their experience, dedication, and responsiveness in preserving the company’s growth and reputation in the region by continually delivering reliable results.

Lab results are at the forefront of many medical decisions, and laboratory diagnosis is essential to healthcare, said Dr. Okechukwu. He said, “The company will continue to provide quality, affordable diagnostics to every community across West Africa.”

Event stakeholders noted DCL’s manufacturing and long-term healthcare solutions are strengths. Technical reliability, after-sales service, and active involvement with healthcare facilities to optimize diagnostic equipment are corporate hallmarks. The speakers emphasized the need for more diagnostic facilities, local manufacturing, healthcare technologies, and laboratory capacity.
